Some Fine Day Pix Call for Application
Some Fine Day Pix is a hub where exceptional Kenyan filmmakers meet, hone their skills, team up across departments and eventually produce their own short film. Their three-pronged approach programme- Learning, Making and Talking Film- keeps a simple method to the passing of knowledge and mentorship to filmmakers.
Under the Making film programme, select participants in five departments (Scriptwriting, Directing, Producing Cinematography and Editing) are being invited for the chance to receive mentorship while working on a tangible project under real-world conditions for a period of 9 months.
From submitted works, further developed during masterclasses, the scriptwriters will present their short film scripts to fellow participants from the other four classes. Participants will then form teams to refine the short films and present their projects to a distinguished jury, who will then select six teams, each receiving financial support to produce their respective short film.
The successful project will follow in the footsteps of the great talents behind Grogan’s Lodge, Inheritance, Mawimbi, Act of Love, Ndoto & Stero– six projects developed, funded, and produced under the Some Fine Day Pix ‘The Making‘ programme and are currently opening globally.
