Severed Justice, The Waiting Room, and Flight 1963, satires that have pointed a finger at our country’s governance, but this time, Igiza Arts shines a spotlight on another powerful entity: the church
Years back, the National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK) was an undeniably vocal council, addressing almost every inconsistency by the Executive. Now, a wave of conformity has been noticed, with not all but many churches giving in to the political landscape through silence and huge bags of cash.
As Martin Abuya (Creative Director and Writer) shares, Igiza Arts’ The Anointed Cartel seeks to delve deep into the hypocrisy among rogue clergy, pinpointing major events such as the COVID-19 outbreak and the Gen-Z protests, when the church was needed the most, but fell silent.
