REVEAL! Comic ConversationEA this month is in conversation with the celebrated editorial cartoonist and comic artist, Paul Kelemba aka MADDO. The veteran illustrator will be discussing his journey, from the 1980s when it was near-fatal to caricature a Head of State through to winning a CNN Award. His epoch-making collection of work, ‘2007—2011: The Hot Years’ will also be on sale. REVEAL! Comic ConversationEA brings together comic book enthusiasts and young students talented in creative arts to discuss the future of making comic art industry with the support of like-minded organisations like the Alliance Française and Kymsnet Media Network in what they plan to be monthly meet-ups and with time, to extend across East Africa. Their main area of focus is cartoons, comics and graphic novels.

Carbon often gets a bad rap, it’s easy to forget the element is the giver of life. With the town still buzzing from the Africa Climate Summit, Evans Ngure and Wallace Juma exquisite expo ‘An Ode to a Carbon Life’ is still on show at the Alliance Française. With the different unique styles, the two artists use discarded and reclaimed to educate on the need to maintain biodiversity, practice better waste management and hold conversations with the viewer on the nature of modern consumerism.
