Kenya Theatre Awards, an affiliate of the Kenya International Theatre Festival Trust, is set to unveil the official nominees for the recently concluded and meticulously reviewed 2023 theatrical year.

The rigorous review process, undertaken by the KTA Jury while overseen by the KTA Secretariat, involved in-depth discussions and evaluations of all watched theatre productions from the aforementioned year.

This meticulous scrutiny, undertaken by a dedicated 5-member jury panel, culminated in the compilation of a definitive list of nominees across the diverse spectrum of confirmed categories.

The unveiling of the 35 eligible categories open for public voting will be conducted by the Kenya Theatre Awards Secretariat on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, 11:00 am at the Talanta Plaza, hosted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy & Sports, with CS, Hon. Ababu Namwamba, EGH as the Chief Guest.

The highly anticipated event will equally be live-streamed for wider accessibility. Members of the press and media are cordially invited to attend this significant announcement.

The proceedings will commence promptly at 11:00 am, with attendees requested to be present and seated by 10:30 am.

The Kenya Theatre Awards seeks to honor outstanding productions, artists and the legacy of practitioners who have become icons while encouraging and celebrating a blend of innovation and excellence in theatrical productions within the Kenya theatre arts industry.
