With its successful run last year on December 3rd and 4th at Jain Bhavan, MARKET PRICE, a play by Mbeki Mwalimu’s BACK TO BASICS makers of Breathe 1,2 and 3, is back for one more run at Alliance Francaise this 5th, 6th and 7th of May.

Mbeki Mwalimu (Creator)

Imagine you are part of generations of women, growing up while unsuccessfully dodging alcoholism, starvation, despair, and unsolicited propositions that promise twenty shillings, the unit price for a meal in Korogocho.

You may juggle the above, but an unfortunate series of coincidences throws you on the path of gun running for gangs under the guise of a backpack carrying school girl.

Brace yourselves for this tale of innocence sacrificed at the altar of survival with the women attempting to break the generational cycle and make a decent living in a slum near you. A masterpiece that will linger in your mind long after the Alliance Francaise curtains fall.

Wakio Mzenge (Director)

Created by Mbeki Mwalimu (Kina), Directed by Wakio Mzenge (County 49), and written by Saumu Kombo (Midnight Train), MARKET PRICE features a revered and adulated cast consisting of; Mwikali Mary (Breathe 3), Shiviske Shivisi (Disconnect), Valentine Njeru (Sarafina), Basil Mungai (Click Click Bang), Chadota Sandra (Flash Squad), Lucy Wache (Spread your garment), Cosmas Kirui (Son of Agich), Wendy Jebet (Simba Bazenga) and Vivian Gichuhi (Tapeli). Set design done by Isaac Njue, Sound and Lighting done by Charles Stephen.

Saumu Kombo (Writer)

Make haste and Purchase your Advance Tickets of 1500/= valid till the 3rd of May and 2000/= thereafter.

Nyakua Tikiti yako through Till Number 588379. See you there.
