If you thought your high school days were dramatic, wait until you see Prefects on Citizen TV.

Perhaps following in the footsteps of the celebrated ‘Tahidi High’, which also aired on Citizen TV, here’s a new teen drama with a twist and it’s serving up a deliciously wicked blend of power struggles, rebellion, and questionable disciplinary tactics.

Directed by June Ndinya, Prefects will make you glad you’re not in high school anymore—or make you wish you were back to shake things up a bit.

Picture this: a school where the prefects aren’t just maintaining order – they’re running the show. These badge-wearing titans have turned their school into a private fiefdom, handing out punishments that would make even the strictest teacher raise an eyebrow. It’s like they’ve taken a page out of the How to Be a Boss handbook.

But hold on to your school ties. Enter the Clippers—a group of students who’ve decided enough is enough. They’re on a mission to cut the prefects down to size and bring some balance back to the hallways. Think of them as the Robin Hoods of the classroom, but instead of redistributing wealth, they’re after justice and fair treatment.

Prefects isn’t just another teen show. It’s a clever take on power dynamics in a setting we can all relate to. Plus, it will remind you of your school days, minus the stress of exams.

It’s like watching a Kenyan political drama with less corruption and more hilarious power plays. Think ‘Tahidi High’ but with a healthy dose of ‘House of Cards’ in the plot. It tackles real issues facing youth but with enough humour to keep things light.

All these comes backed by some of our faves such as Rachael Nduhukire, Rukia Nalubega, Michael Tamale and Tracy Kababiito from Uganda, Jibril Drake, Kevin Kasyoki, Basil Mungai, Vanessa Aika, and Maya Said, amongst a host of many other stunning actors and actresses.

From witty dialogue that will have you chuckling, to plot twists that will keep you guessing, this is the one show that might just become your new Saturday night ritual.

Whether you’re a former prefect looking to relive your glory days, an ex-rebel seeking retribution, or just someone who enjoys watching teenage chaos unfold from the safety of your couch, Prefects has something for everyone.
