Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards is an award show presented by MultiChoice recognising outstanding performances in television, film, entertainment and now in digital content creation throughout the entire African content.
With Kenya bagging a number of nominations this year, trophies too were brought home from yesterday’s event held at Lagos Nigeria where Films such as Click Click Bang and Gacal were honoured alongside the hit Comedy TV show Njoro Wa Uba.
Directed by Philip Karanja and written by Abel Mutua, Click Click Bang scooped two awards yesterday evening; Best Movie East Africa, going head to head with projects such as; Karamoja, Bedroom Chains, Dial M for Maya among others. Best Indigenous Language (Swahili) going head to head with Films such as Dau, Safari, Barakatatu among others.
Njoro Wa Uba, on top of grabbing a number of award trophies, went on to win as the Best Original Comedy having competed against projects such as My Siblings and I, The Johnsons, Uncle Limbani among others.
The Kenyan-Somali Film, Gacal attained a win with actor Abdisattar Ahmed taking home the Best Supporting Actor trophy.
