Single night/day, or single location stories usually brings one thing in mind; Tension. Reminiscent of 12 Angry Men or the series County 49, and we’re about to get a dose of that in The Priest Is Dead.
Set over a single night inside a police station, The Priest Is Dead, directed by Kamau Ng’ethe and Jante Juma, begins when a priest is detained for overspeeding alongside a silent teenage girl, but while in custody, the priest is mysteriously murdered! The only witness—the girl—is knocked unconscious during the chaos that follow, waking up with no memory of what happened. Not even a recollection of the crime.

With time running out, OCS Hadiyah and Detective Mugo must race to piece together what happened, as faith, guilt, and suspicion close in from all sides. For come sunrise, homicide will arrive—but whether the truth survives the night is far from certain.
Layered in psychological realism and crafted through the duality of stillness and chaos among other striking tonal and visual language, The Priest Is Dead promises an unforgettable experience from a production house with nearly a decade of experience; Dreamhouse Entertainment.
Boasting a star-studded ensemble of; Wakio Mzenge, Ibrahim Muchemi, Esther Kazungu, Ellah Maina, and Martin Kigondu among others, The Priest Is Dead screens at the 8th edition of the Filmmakers Hangout at Two Rivers Mall, 18th of July.
