Africa Digital Media Institute (ADMI), one of the region’s leading creative media and technology training institution, hosted its first screening at Alliance Française in Nairobi last Friday, October 27.
The event, a showcasing of eight of their short films, is in line with the institution’s mission to form an innovative learn-and-work career accelerator, where young creatives – both artistes and techies – get the training, mentorship and platform they need to turn their passion into a profession.
Boldly exploring different genres, from horror, action or thriller, each team put their best shot forward in what was a raw depiction of unique cinematic storytelling.
This was clearly depicted by quality of the films such as Aminia, Extravagangsta, God Forbid, Legion, Inhumane, Twisted, Noma and Job Hunter.
Incorporated in the works on display, and to polish that raw verve of talent, the screening had also included industry professionals such as Keith Chuaga (Noma) and Alfred Munyua (God Forbid) as part of the productions, a clear testament to ADMI’s drive to expose its students with first-hand skill learning from the best in the field.
