The cinematic closet had been opened. What spilled out wasn’t just costumes and makeup tips; it was community. The race continues, but no runner runs alone.
A conclusion to our last coverage of The Cinematic Closet’s first edition held on June 1st 2025, well the race is back on this year. It’s lights out and away we go on October 16th, 11am at Ihub, Jahazi building, James Gichuru Rd, Nairobi.

Founded on the theme of; Career Readiness in Costume Design, a live case study of Reuben Odanga’s “Tides” (in cinemas since 8th August 2026, Cinemax Two Rivers Mall) will be done alongside a panel bringing together an actor, stylist, director, and producer to discuss how their roles intersect — particularly the actor–stylist relationship, and how budgeting, timelines, and storyline shape a production.
Founded and lead by Isabel Nyamgero, this year’s Cinematic Closet will also run a graduation ceremony for its TCC’s first scholarship-funded training cohort, run in collaboration with the African Female Filmmakers Collective (AFFC) alongside the recognition of the 2026 Costume Design Award winner and to cap it off, a keynote address from the Kenya Film Commission (KFC)
