I have to say, I didn’t know how much I missed some of that Millaz Productions flare; their ability to fuse well-timed humor with a heartrending story. This time the core of it all was grief.
Church of the Lord that Walks on Water, spearheaded by Pastor Oscar (preferably pronounced as ‘Askaa’), preside over the burial of Anna Mbimbi, but after the deceased mother shows up, things take a dramatic turn with revelations left, right, and center.
Faithfool, directed by Ken Aswani, stands tall in the substance of its subject matter, not faltering to the point of no dependance to spectacle with only one major set change. This is not to disregard the well done lighting and accuracy of the set to the setting of its narrative.
With a cast consisting of; Robinson Mudavadi, Faiz Ouma, Triza Regina, Ileene Anyona, Phyllis Munene, Keith Maina, Letty Valarie, Kael Njihia, Sharleen Kadilo, Rachael Rose, Ernest Onyango, Sophie Masenza, Sammy Maangi, and Boera Bisieri, the performances propelled every scene down to subtle expressions, movements and references of timely jokes with only a few being out of place.
