2025’s International Women’s Month kicked off in glorious fashion as the Women in Film Awards took initiative in celebrating the tremendous work done by women in Film and TV, we wouldn’t want you to miss out on some of the female lead film, TV and plays that have released recently or soon to come.

Here’s what to add to your watchlist.

  • MO-FAYA

Mo-faya centers around Zawadi (played by Lorna Lemi) and her boyfriend Brian (Brahim Ouma) as they attempt to start a new life after Zawadi uncovers secrets about her family.

A Stephanie Maseki starrer, Elements is a story of a woman’s journey to reclaim HER and overcoming societal stereotypes, childhood trauma, grief and loss.
