The Kenya Actors Guild (KAG) is proud to announce the appointment of Olwal Dickens
as its new Executive Director, effective immediately. This marks a historic step in
strengthening the Guild’s governance, operations, and service delivery to members. The
appointment follows a rigorous selection process by the Board, designed to position KAG
as a professional, transparent, and impactful institution for Kenyan actors.
Olwal, a visionary arts leader and cultural advocate, brings extensive experience from his
leadership roles at the Kenya International Theatre Festival Trust, where he curated the
Kenya Theatre Festival and guided the Kenya Theatre Awards and international cultural
projects. He has consistently demonstrated innovation, collaboration, and a deep
commitment to empowering artists and advancing the creative economy in Kenya and
beyond.
In his first 90 days, Olwal will focus on establishing a dedicated operations team, rolling
out a member portal, professional development programs, and well-laid operational
structures for the Guild.

opportunity for all Kenyan actors.”
