Business opportunities within Kenya’s fashion industry are set to get a boost with The Core Fashion Kenya currently taking centre stage and unveiling its first fashion tourism installation for 2024. Themed ‘Pieces of Me’, the event is set for next Friday April 26, at the Shamba Café, Loresho Ridge.

‘Pieces of Me’ is set to accelerate the country’s fashion tourism through collaborations that will bring together different designers, makeup artists, photographers, fashion enthusiasts and dignitaries from all across the globe.

The fashion industry is a 31-billion-dollar industry in Africa and is one of the fastest growing markets contributing to economies across the continent. We are therefore convinced that transforming how fashion brands and designers are presented on a sustainable platform can optimise both the brand and customer interaction to grow their business. We are therefore curating a platform that will showcase a fashion installation where lifestyle is the main focus – Fashion, Accommodation, Travel, Tourism, Food, and Beverage will be presented through The Pieces of Me Campaign,”Linda Muriithi, Founder and CEO of The Core Fashion Kenya said during the ‘Pieces of Me’ unveiling at an intimate press conference held yesterday at the Wine Box in Lavington, Nairobi.

‘Pieces of Me’ will also provide a platform for designers to showcase bespoke garments, fusing culture and creativity. This event brings an exclusive shopping experience for those who appreciate quality and quiet luxury.

The world knows the iconic runways of Milan and Paris to Tokyo, the home of rich culture. Kenya has many aspects of undiscovered fashion tourism where global travellers will experience style and adventure and we need to tap into that,” Linda added and also commended the support the government has provided the industry thus far.

The showcase will bring together several industry movers and shakers.

Speaking to Sanaa Post, Linda also revealed how the occasion had come to life, was curated and how everything has happened through organic love.

A friend of mine encouraged me to be part of what Linda is doing with the installation because she felt we were connected through what we were doing with skilling artisans from Kibera as well,”she said
